Prépa d'un oral (aide)
Message de sarah57 posté le 21-05-2006 à 09:10:23 (S | E | F | I)

coucou tt le monde

pouvez vous me corriger ma préparation d'oral ?

Let us imagine that you decide to settle in London. First of all, you must begin by looking for a job, don't you think so ?

But the problem is that you don’t know who to ask for some advice or some help.
You can speak to a jobcentre or more precisely to a council adviser. That's why I will begin with a description of a Jobcentre and finish this presentation with the way you can find a job with a council adviser .

So, In my presentation, we will see at first what a Jobcentre is, then how to find an employment, then the process to claim rights, and finally how to be a collaborator of a Jobcentre.

Actually, the jobcentre agency is an organisation part of British department for work and pensions (public employment service). it is the equivalent of our Agence National Pour l’Emploi.

CF DIAPO PAGE 2

The jobcentre has, of course, different goals :
- one of them is to contribute to the government’s plan of tackling poverty, ( reducing unemployment, promoting growth and modernising government services)
- another goal is to help a large number of people find jobs or employers to fill in their vacancies.

In order to briefly present the JCP, we can see how helpfull enough it can actually be. For this, I would like to use various hypotheses (prononcer "haïpotheesiz") :

If you wish to find a job, you can contact an adviser who will show you an adapted program, according to your situation :

So, We can see the various programs that you can join :

CF DIAPO PAGE 3

The Condition Management Programme is designed to help people understand and manage their heath condition in a work environment.

Another programme is the Ambition Programme, offering quality training designed by employers and adapted to your needs.
Indeed, it makes sure that you get the skills that employers want and have a good chance of securing a long term beneficial job. Training is currently available in the branch of energy and heath.

I will now introduce the Action Teams, who concentrate their work on people who are often called “ the hardest to help”.
These people include groups for example the long-term unemployed, those with alcohol and drug problems, and people with disabilities, ethnic minorities to name but a few.

Now we can see that
If you want to make a claim, you can establish a file for claiming yours rights with an adviser.

in reality, advisers have access to backing they can use to help you.

If you decide to take up a work trial, in favour of someone from the JCP office, the jobcentre will make arrangements for you to continue receiving benefit and will manage with any question you have.

CF DIAPO PAGE 4

For example, during a work trial you will :
- get the chance to try out a job for up to 15 working days and show an employer that you are the right person to fill it
- continue to receive any benefits you are authorized to
- be paid travel expenses of up £10 per day and meal expenses of up to £3 per day.

Indeed, the expert staff can tell you about the benefits you can claim (maternity allowance or still careers allowance for example....)

You still will be able to claim benefits through JCP as long as you have taken part in the meeting with your personal adviser.

And, to concluded, we will see that
If you want to start working with JCP, by becoming job adviser.

in fact, if you plan to become an council adviser , here are some of the requirements for this job
According to me the employment advice workers offer advice and support to clients on many employment issues, including :

CF DIAPO PAGE 5
•Contructive dismissal
•Disciplinary procedures
•Equal opportunities

However, typical activities will usually include :
•Interpreting and explaining legislation
•Identifying possible courses of action
•Linking with other organisations

But, since specific higher education qualifications are nor essential for advice workers, training within the profession is very important, but in France, if you wish to exert this job, you must pass the competitive examination of category A.

If you need more information of this subject, you are this site ! You have this site.
Do you have questions ? thank you very much for having listened to me !

thanks you for you help

Let's imagine that you decide to relocate to London; your first task would be to find a job, the problem being that you don’t know who to ask for some help and advice.
You can speak to a jobcentre or more precisely to a council adviser. That's why I will begin with a description of a jobcentre and finish this presentation with the way you can find a job with the help of a council adviser .

We will discover, at first, what a jobcentre infact is, before looking in further detail at the process of claiming rights, and finishing with descriptions of how to become a collaborator of a Jobcentre.

Actually, the jobcentre agency is an organisation which is part of the British department of work and pensions (public employment service). It's the equivalent of our Agence National Pour l’Emploi.

In order to briefly present the JCP, we can see how helpful it can really be. For this, I would like to introduce various hypotheses (prononcer "haïpothesiz") :

If you wish to find a job, you can contact an adviser who will show you a suitable program for your personal situation, (such programs are adaptable accordingly).

Henceforth, we see the various programs that you can join :

CF DIAPO PAGE 3

The Condition Management Programme is designed to help people understand and manage their heath condition in a work environment.

Another programme is the Ambition Programme, offering quality training designed by employers and adapted to your needs.
Indeed, it enables you to gain the skills that employers want, and to have a good chance of securing a long term beneficial job. Training is currently available in the branches of energy and heath.

I will now introduce the Action Teams, who concentrate their work on people who are referred to as “ the hardest to help”.
These teams also target groups, such as the long-term unemployed, those with alcohol and drug problems, and people with disabilities or whom are part of an ethnic minority, to name but a few.

To summarize thus far,
If you want to make a claim, you must establish your rights (with regards to your personal situation) with an adviser.

in reality, advisers have access to financial backing they can use to help you.

If you decide to take up a work trial, the jobcentre will make arrangements for you to continue receiving benefit and will deal with any questions you may have.

CF DIAPO PAGE 4

For example, during a work trial you will :
- get the chance to try out a job for up to 15 working days and show an employer that you are the right person to fill it
- continue to receive any benefits you are authorized to
- be paid travel expenses of upto £10 per day and meal expenses of upto £3 per day.

Indeed, the expert staff can tell you about the benefits you can claim (maternity allowance or still careers allowance for example....)

You still will be entitled to claim benefits through JCP as long as you have taken part in the meeting with your personal adviser.

Finally,
If you want to start working within JCP itself, it is possible to become a job adviser.

The employment advice workers offer advice and support to clients on many employment issues, including :

CF DIAPO PAGE 5
•Contructive dismissal
•Disciplinary procedures
•Equal opportunities

However, typical activities will usually include :
•Interpreting and explaining legislation
•Identifying possible courses of action
•Linking with other organisations

Since specific higher education qualifications are not essential for advice workers, training within the profession is very important. In France, however, the competitive examination of category A is a standard qualification of advice worker applicants.

Any questions?

thank you for your time.

there you go.. good luck xx
