Texte anglais :
An Amusing Mistake At an inn
They were to sleep in the same room, but in different beds. They took the candle and went up. As they got into the room, the candle went out and they had to undress and grope into bed in the dark. This they did, but instead of getting into separate beds, as they thought they were doing, they both climbed into the same one without knowing it – one getting in with his head at the top, and the other crawling in from the opposite side and lying with his feet on the pillow
Traduction que je propose, en Francais :
Une erreur amusante à une auberge
Ils devaient dormir dans la même chambre, mais dans des lits différents. Ils ont pris la bougie et sont montés. Quand ils sont entrés dans la chambre, la bougie c’est éteinte et ils ont dû se déshabiller et chercher à tâtons leurs lits dans l'obscurité.
ils ont fait comme ceci , mais au lieu d'entrer dans des lits séparés, ils ont pensé qu'ils le faisaient, ils sont monté tous les deux dans le même sans le savoir . L’un est entrée avec sa tête en haut et l’autre a rampé du coté opposé et a positionné ses pieds sur l’oreiller.
Traduire du Francais à l'anglais =
Ils montèrent dans leurs chambres.
They go up in their rooms.
Avant de se coucher, ils racontèrent des histoires amusantes.
Before going to bed, they tell funny stories
Le matin, quand ils virent le soleil se lever, ils s'habillèrent et partirent se promener dans la campagne.
In the morning, when they saw the sun getting up, they got dressed and left to walk in the campaign.

4)Giving one's opinion is not always welcome
5)They came by ones and twos.
III) Complétez ( à l'endroit souligné ) à l'aide de whole, all, also, too, so =
1)They all got into the room.
2)He was lying on the bed, also
3)The all house was awakened.
4)The second candle too went out.

Bonsoir.1- Traduction: (Passé composé ou passé simple? : c'est un récit de quel niveau de langue?- j'ai préféré le passé simple qui est le temps du récit)
Une erreur amusante dans une auberge
Ils devaient dormir dans la même chambre mais dans des lits différents. Ils prirent la bougie et montèrent. Alors qu'ils pénétraient dans la chambre la bougie s'éteignit et ils durent se déshabiller dans l'obscurité
et chercher leurs lits à tâtons. Ce qu'ils firent, mais au lieu d'entrer dans des lits séparés, comme ils croyaient le faire, ils montèrent tous deux dans le même lit sans le savoir - l'un tête en haut, l'autre y rampant depuis le côté opposé, ses pieds reposant sur l'oreiller.
2- Du français à l'anglais:
- (prétérit):They went up to their rooms.
- Before going to bed they told funny stories.
- In the morning, when they saw the sun rise (infinitif sans 'to' après les verbes de perception), they got dressed and left/went for a walk in the country.
(to get up = se lever ...de son lit=> pas pour le soleil/ 'se lever' pour le soleil = 'to rise')
3-Questions:
a) to grope: it means to search for something or someone as if blind (=aveugle) in the dark.
b) both = the two/ the one and the other
c) to crawl: A person who crawls moves as a worm (un ver de terre)/ One of the person in the text moved slowly in the dark.
4-Futur : will ici
a) They will have to go to bed in the dark (conjugaison avec l'auxiliaire 'will' à la 3ème personne du pluriel)
b) They will be able to get separate rooms
c) You will be allowed to take the candle and go up.
d) He will have to go to bed straight away
5- Complétez => OK

N°2: He was also lying on the bed (place de l'adverbe entre l'auxiliaire et le Ving)
N°3: the whole house (= la maison en entier/ toute la maison/ tous les gens de la maison)
