Correction of a writing

Message de noussa64 posté le 21-08-2008 à 15:14:17 (S | E | F)

j'ai fait un writing de sujet " whould you like to study abroad" si c'est possible , vous corriger mon travail et me dire s'il ya quelques fautes d'expressions ou d'autres. merci d'avance!!
my writing :
Generally, when pupils succeed in their bac, they face this question: »what about studying abroad ». Most of them consider that as a good opportunity that we should not refuse, even though hesitate. However, I believe that we should study in our countries for many reasons.
In fact, when you study abroad, you won’t feel at ease maybe because of the lack of friends, or you won’t know how to integrate in this new society which will affect your studies. Moreover, when we are in our country, we’ll conserve our dignity; we won’t feel strange, rejected, homesick and maybe isolated and excluded as we feel abroad. In addition to that, abroad, you will find yourself obliged to cook , to wash your clothes, to clean your bedsit, all that by yourself. Thais waste of time, if you’re in your country, you can spend it on studying.
Some pupils pretend that school conditions and studies abroad are better and also all books are available there. That’s right but I would answer that on nowadays, thanks to the net, there’s no problem with information. Only one thing does matter: to be hard-worker!!!

Voici ma tentative:

Generally, when pupils succeed in their bac(le terme "bac" n'est pas connu hors de la France. Je recommande "baccalaureat"), they face this question: »what about studying abroad »Utilisez "" plutôt que >> <<). Most of them consider that as a good opportunity that we should not refuse, even though hesitate. However, I believe that we should study in our countries for many reasons.

Bonne chance!

Generally, when pupils succeed in their bac(le terme "bac" n'est pas bien connu hors de la France ou les pays francophones. Je recommande "baccalaureat"), they face this question: What about studying abroad?. Most of them consider that (it) as a good opportunity that we (they) should not refuse, even though hesitate (hesistant). However, I believe that we should study in our countries for many reasons.
In fact, when you study abroad, you won’t feel at ease maybe because of the lack of friends, or (because) you won’t know how to integrate in this new society, which will affect your studies. Moreover, when we are in our country, we’ll conserve our dignity; we won’t feel as strange, rejected, homesick and maybe isolated and excluded as we feel abroad. In addition to that, abroad, you will find yourself obliged to cook , to wash your clothes, to clean your bedsit(correct mais pas souvent utilisé), (and) so on by yourself. Thais (This is a) waste of time, which, if you’re in your country, you can spend it on studying.
Some pupils pretend that school conditions and studies abroad are better and also all books are available there. That’s right but I would answer that on nowadays, thanks to the net, there’s no problem with information. Only one thing does matter: to be hard-worker (hardworking)!!!

Why not "preserve our dignity"?

  • Most of them consider that as a good opportunity that we should not refuse – "that" est possible, c'est vrai  je suis cependant du même avis que acemach : le "it" est mieux ici.

Vous pouvez dire aussi: Most of them consider it TO BE a good opportunity that they should not refuse.

hoger: "that YOU should not refuse" est certainement correct, mais pour moi il semble un peu étrange dans ce cas, comme si THEY (les étudiants) parlent de YOU (vous-même, pas général).

TravisKidd: Yes, "preserve" would also fit quite nicely there. Thanks!

Je suis heureux de vous aider.
