Eric Fréchon, and ardent 45 years old defender of French cuisine who reexamines the essentials, is the only one to be promuted to the top in this new and hundredth edition of the Michelin guide.

Nine additional establishments get two stars including the Mère Brazier in Lyon

Before, the chef had one star in his previous restaurant that he sold to buy an institution of Lyon the Mère Brazier, which hasn’t got any star.

France has officially 26 three-star restaurants, like in 2008, after the closure of t Olivier Roellinger’s Maisons de Bricourt and of the promotion of the Bristol.
Marc Veyrat’s restaurant remains a three-star restaurant in the hundredth edition of the guide, but the chef announced last week he decided not to reopen his establishement situed on the lake of Annecy because of “health reasons”.

I would change the word order so that it would read better:
On Monday morning, the Parisian press announced that Le Bristol, the gourmet restaurant of the Parisian palace, was awarded three stars in the 2009 edition of the Michelin France guide.
Nine additional establishments GOT two stars including La Mère Brazier in Lyon
45 year old Eric Fréchon, an ardent defender of French cuisine where he reexamines the fundamentals, is the only one to be promoted to the top in this new 100th hundredth edition of the guide.
Nine additional establishments got two stars including La Mère Brazier in Lyon.
The chef had received one star in his previous restaurant which he sold to buy La Mère Brazier, an institution in Lyon, which hadn't received any stars.
