Correction/Henry Ford
Message de laaura posté le 24-11-2014 à 20:40:12 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
j'ai un devoir un à rendre sur l'idée de progrès concernant Henry Ford par rapport à un article vu en classe. Si possible j'aimerais bien que quelqu'un m'aide à corriger mes fautes et m'expliquer pourquoi elles sont fausses. Voici mon texte :

This article by J. Dos Passos talks about Henry Ford, the man who revolutionized the automobile world.
We learn that Henry Ford had his own working policy. First he established the assembly
line. Then as a conservative man, he only hired clean trained American workmen. To stir them up to be good workers, Ford gave them five dollars a day, an amount of money which was enough important at that time. It's on those concepts that the success of Henry Ford was based.

However, we can read that the journalist is quite biased in his words. His article is written with a sarcastic tone. For instance, he gives his opinion on the wages given to the workers as a “very small cut” of the profits. He adds that to make the five dollars a day “always there were strings to it”. Moreover, the workers “mustn't read or think”. Therefore, his vision of Ford's success seems to be negative for him : Ford exploited his employees.

Despite of the opinion of the journalist, I considered Henry Ford as a hero. He was the first who created an huge empire, he gave works to good men, he paid them well, and he invented the assembly line. In fact, he was the largest automobile manufacturer in the world.

To conclude, those texts illustrate the idea of progress well. It is showed that the impact of Ford's work revolutionizes the work's industry.

Merci d'avance ;)

Bonjour,
quelques mots semblent mal choisis en traduction: par exemple, clean trained workers, des ouvriers proprement formés ? mais clean, c'est propre, le contraire de sale..... properly signifie proprement au sens de correctement.

This article by J. Dos Passos talks about Henry Ford, the man who revolutionized the automobile world.
We learn that Henry Ford had his own working policy. First he established the assembly
line. Then as a conservative man, he only hired clean trained American workmen. To stir them up (bizarre, cherchez inciter, encourager) to be good workers, Ford gave them five dollars a day, an amount of money which was enough(vient derrière l'adjectif) important at that time.

Despite of(en trop) the opinion of the journalist, I considered(pourquoi votre opinion est-elle au passé?) Henry Ford as a hero. He was the first man who created an huge empire, he gave works(vous voulez dire jobs? des emploi, ou work, du travail) to good(pourquoi ce jugement de valeur, des hommes bons??) men, he paid them well, and he invented the assembly line. In fact, he was the largest(ne va pas pour un homme, biggest ou most important) automobile manufacturer in the world.

To conclude, those texts illustrate the idea of progress well. It is showed that the impact of Ford's work revolutionizes(prétérit plutôt) the work's(le cas posessif s'applique plutôt à des humains) industry.
